Since Busan Museum opened in 1978, it has attained its majority. For the past 30 years, we have been putting sustained efforts to discharge role of Museum such as preserving and developing traditional culture based on our root. But it has not been enough to be a symbol of identity of Busan and citizen’s pride due to old and limited facilities. In 2002, we rebuilt and renovated Busan Museum by expanding and modernizing it so that it can satisfy citizen’s desire to traditional culture based on collections that are secured by excavation, purchasing, donation, etc.
Collections here are invaluable materials that inform history and cultural character and detail of Busan from the Prehistoric period to the present.
They will be used as essentials to create developmental future and right information of locality by citizen’s and researcher's concern.
We will do our best to make Busan Museum as your place to do its functions as a hub of Busan’s traditional culture and a comprehensive museum through securing and cultural and historical remains.
